Advantages of Using An Above Ground Swimming Pool HeaterWhat you may not love, however, is the fact that it is not always the temperature that you want it to be. With less water, it is easier for the above ground swimming pool to lose heat quickly. As soon as the evenings start to get cooler, the water becomes too cold to swim in. Even though the days are still hot enough to warrant swimming in the above ground swimming pool, the cold nights make it nearly impossible to do so. However, there is a solution to your problem. An above ground swimming pool heater is a great solution to the problem of keeping your swimming pool water at a swimmable temperature before the water would normally be warm enough to comfortably swim in. Gas Above Ground Swimming Pool Heater One type of above ground swimming pool heater is a gas heater. This heater is quite expensive, but it boasts that it does not require much maintenance. However, when it does require maintenance, it is very expensive to do so. In addition, with gas prices rising in today's global economy, a gas above ground swimming pool heater is really not cost efficient. On the up side, this is the best heater if you need to heat your pool water quickly. In just a couple of hours this gas heater will heat your pool to the mid 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Electric Above Ground Swimming Pool Heater Another type of above ground swimming pool heater is an electric one. These heaters are not as expensive as a gas heater, but they are still quite pricey. However, the electric heater will not raise your electric bill exponentially like a gas heater will. On the down side, it will take a couple of days to heat your pool to the mid 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and it will have to be run twenty four hours a day until it reaches that temperature. Solar Above Ground Swimming Pool Heater The third type of above ground swimming pool heater is a solar heater. This is by far the cheapest above ground swimming pool heater. This system is made up of a set of black tubes that the water is run through slowly with a pump. The tubes are put in an optimal position to receive the most sunlight possible, therefore making the tubes very hot during the day. As long as you have sunlight to work with, you can heat your pool to the mid 80's relatively quickly (though not as quick as the other heaters), with less cost than the other heaters. |
