The Opportunities To Go Bird Watching In National ParksLocations For Bird Watching In National Parks For bird watching in national parks near the ocean a person will want to travel to Acadia National Park in the state of Maine. This northeastern national park allows the opportunity to watch sea birds of all types and all the many nesting birds that return each year to this sanctuary to successfully hatch their young. Watchers can easily drive to the many bird watching locations or there are several trails that will lead to more secluded locales. Another great choice is to take a bird watching boat tour out of one of the marinas close by or even taking the ferry that takes passengers from Maine to Nova Scotia. Whichever choice for viewing a watcher is sure to be pleased with the many bird species in the area. There may even be the opportunity to see a Peregrine Falcon perched on the cliffs of Champlain Mountain. For a completely different scope of bird watching in a national park a person may choose to visit Sequoia National Park in California. This park offers the distinct feature of lower elevations of about 1700 feet to the highest peak in the continental united states which is Mount Whitney that reaches 14,494 feet. For the watcher who is eager to take harder trails to remote locations this is a great opportunity but there are several easy trails and drives that will also provide excellent watching experiences. A person who has a lot of time for travel may want to include the Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Parks in this trip as they are both within easy driving distance. The serious bird watcher may want to look at the many opportunities for bird watching in national parks in the states of Alaska and Hawaii. Both these states offer different climates than on the continental United States which have many different species and environments for observation. A cruise to Alaska or a multi island visit to Hawaii may prove to be the most spectacular experience offered in the states. A look at the National Park website, www.nps.gov, will provide a person with all the possibilities for bird watch in the national parks of these states. |
