However you should never feel helpless, because there are plenty of options available when it comes to treatment.

There are actually quite a few different causes that are considered as being responsible for excessive sweating and weight gain, one in particular being genetics. Research and studies have shown that sweating problems tend to be hereditary, and so if others in your family have suffered from these sorts of conditions then you are much more likely to develop them as well.

Having an overactive thyroid can also be a cause of both excessive sweating and weight gain, and this can be a very serious issue. The thyroid gland is located just below the larynx in the front of the neck, and in some thyroid diseases, the thyroid gland enlarges, which can be felt and seen as a bump in the neck. Often times the first sensation with thyroid enlargement is a feeling of fullness or difficulty swallowing, and so if you ever notice these sorts of symptoms you want to make sure that you get in to see your doctor as soon as you can.

Drinking hot beverages and those that contain caffeine or alcohol can also cause sweating and weight gain, as well as spicy foods. This is why you want to make sure that you eat a healthy and nutritious diet, one that is rich in fresh fruits and vegetables.
