Inground Fiberglass Swimming Pool or Custom-Made?

An inground fiberglass swimming pool is a wonderful compromise for most homeowners. Many homeowners want an inground swimming pool, but the cost of installation of a custom made pool can be prohibitive, at the best. An alternative, for the homeowner is an inground fiberglass swimming pool. The inground fiberglass swimming pools are pre-made in numerous shapes and sizes to accommodate most tastes. While this does not allow the same freedom as a custom-made pool, it does provide an excellent, reasonably priced option.

There are advantages to the inground fiberglass swimming pool to a custom-made swimming pool, other than cost. Those advantages are time, overtime damage, and weather changes. We will discuss these advantages below. There is one item that is never an advantage to either pool, and that is maintenance. Both pools require maintenance and the use of an inground swimming pool cleaner can help with this

It takes a great deal less time for installation of an inground fiberglass swimming pool over than of a custom-made pool. So less costs in materials and labor is the advantage to an inground fiberglass swimming pool. As well as less steps there are many less things that can go wrong in the installation.

All pools take damage over time from use, weather, chemicals and simply age. The fiberglass pool takes less damage than many materials used in pool construction, especially from chemicals. For the homeowner who wants a pool and not a masterpiece of showmanship, the inground fiberglass swimming pool is ideal. The warranty on a inground fiberglass swimming pool may also be longer, due to the less damage they take.

While pools have become much more common in places that have winter, weather changes and grounds temperatures can and do still affect your pool. There are inground fiberglass swimming pools specially designed for use in areas with winter, and should be researched and considered before you make any choices.

Maintenance Is Not An Advantage For Either Type of Pool

There is no pool in existence that does not require ongoing maintenance to work correctly and live to its full potential life. Regardless of what construction is underlying the pool, you need to maintain the equipment and the water chemical levels. Failure to do so will result in pool problems and equipment problems. While an inground fiberglass swimming pool surface may be easier to clean, it still must be cleaned. The wrong level of chemicals, both to little and too much can both damage the machinery of the pool.
