Learning About the Many Different Martial Arts Styles



Few people actually realize just how many different martial arts styles there are out there, and although each shares the same core balance and ideal, there are many major differences that need to be learned and understood.

There are literally hundreds of different martial arts styles, including: Aikido, boxing, Dim Mak, Goju Kai, Hsing, Ju Jitsu, Judo, Kali, karate, Kendo, kickboxing, Pa Kua, Savate, Shito Ryu, Sumo, taekwando, and Wing Chun - just to name a few of the many.

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is definitely one of the most popular martial arts styles, and it is a type of fighting that incorporates kicking and punching as a major part of its style, and in the full contact version of the sport, the male boxers are bare chested, barefoot and wear only boxing trunks. Although it is often practiced as an independent style, for the most part kickboxing is a martial arts style that just an event.

There are actually a few different forms of kickboxing that you can choose from to practice, such as: Adithada, Lethwei, Pradal Serey, Muay Thai, Japanese kickboxing, full contact karate, Savate, and shoot boxing.

Judo

Judo is another incredibly popular and well recognized mixed martial arts styles and it is an ancient martial art that makes use of the opponent's strength in order to overcome him. This results in making it possible for a weaker opponent to overcome a stronger opponent.



The name  Judo' actually translates to  the gentle way', and that is, in a way, what Judo is really all about, although you may not think that because it is in fact a style of fighting. Although it is a style of fighting it is not harshly violent or crude, and is more simply about overcoming the enemy rather than demolishing him.

Judo is a martial arts style that is known best for its spectacular throwing and grappling techniques, and it is most often compared to freestyle wrestling in terms of the maneuvers that are used throughout a typical fight. There can be a variety of different reasons as to why you practice Judo, but it is basically a great defense strategy and not only that it is fun and enjoyable to do.

You should really learn a bit about all the different martial arts styles before making any final decisions so that you can properly determine which particular style is going to be best suited to you.
