Use Swimming Pool Testing Equipment To Keep Your Pool Safe

If you have a swimming pool in the yard it is important that careful attention is paid to the general maintenance of the pool. From swimming pool pumps to the water inside, it will be necessary to ensure that your pool is properly taken care of.

One of the most important ways to make sure your pool is maintained is by checking the water. By using swimming pool testing equipment you can easily check the quality of the water in your pool. Depending on what your pool test equipment might tell you about your pool you may need to add a variety of chemicals to the water. This will help ensure that the water is at safe levels and everyone can enjoy a nice refreshing swim.

Different Types Of Swimming Pool Testing Equipment

There are a few great ways that you can easily use swimming pool testing equipment to verify that your pool water is suitable for swimming. A traditional method is to collect a vial of pool water in a tube. Drops of solution are added to the vial. The pool water in the vial will change colors to indicate the results of the test. You will then need to match the color of your pool water with a color chart to determine if your water is within normal limits or it needs to be treated. With this type of test you can check the levels of chlorine in your swimming pool and the pH level. This is one of the most cumbersome methods for testing your pool water but is frequently the cheapest.

Another simple way to test your pool water is to invest in some water testing strips. With this type of swimming pool testing equipment all you need to do is dip the test strip into your pool water. The test strip will turn color to indicate the chemical levels of your pool water. A color chart will be used to interpret those results. Different test strips are available to test different components of your water. This method is easier to use than the vial method but is a little more expensive.

A third way to test your water is with the use of a digital test strip reader. Similar to standard pool test strips, a strip is dipped into the pool water. The strip is then inserted into a machine that will produce a digital readout of the exact chemical composition of your water. This will take the guess work out of matching test strips and vials to a color chart. Expect to pay a bit more for this handy piece of swimming pool testing equipment.
